Welcome to AfroReggaeDigital – the new online radio station broadcasting from AfroReggae's Centre for Collective Intelligence, Lorenzo Zanetti in Parada de Lucas, Rio de Janeiro.

AfroReggaeDigital is one of over 60 social action projects run by AfroReggae, the internationally acclaimed hip hop act and NGO.

The station's programming is produced by members of AfroReggae's 200-strong family and students at ARD's School for Radio and Multimedia.

August 5th: AfroReggae on tour in the USA!

The main AfroReggae Band will be going on tour in the USA starting on August 5th.  For more information visit the main AfroReggae site, www.afroreggae.org.br


August 3rd: Inauguration of the new AfroReggae nucleus in Complexo de Alemão!

Our latest community centre opens this Friday, with performances from AfroSamba and special guests Arlindo Cruz, Anderson do Molejo and others. There will also be a class from comedian duo Casseta e Planeta!  Our student-reporters will be there covering the event and reporting back with audio and photos for all our listeners. Stay tuned!


July 31st: Launch of Luciano Huck´s Latest Book in Parada de Lucas

On the 31st of July the community of Parada de Lucas welcomed Globo TV presenter Luciano Huck, for the launch of his new book “Na terra, no céu, no mar – Viagens de aventura do Caldeirão do Huck” at the AfroReggae nucleus.  Luciano was greeted by AfroReggae groups AfroLata, Akoni and a perfomance from our violin class. Luciano also joined us in the station to be interviewed by As Trix, three of the youngest students at AfroReggaeDigital. As Trix and Paulo Vitor, another of our students (pictured to the right with AfroReggae main band frontman LG), were out in the street and around the nucleus collecting interviews.  For pictures of the event, please visit our gallery.

June 4th: Our radio stream has started!

Listen live to our first show: the AfroReggaeDigital Intro Show. Lots of info about the project, interspersed with music chosen by AfroReggae members, from Brasil and around the world. Plenty of tunes from the AfroReggae band in there too. Enjoy!
